I’ve been working on and off with Southern Cross Care for nine years.
I originally came via a six-month agency placement. I was welcomed, supported and treated very well. That’s why I joined.
SCC has a wonderful family feel, with lots of flexibility and give and take. When my husband took ill, everyone gave me great support: managers, staff and even residents and their families.
I enjoy working in the Dementia Ward and would love to keep doing courses and learning more about dementia.
This is completely doable, as SCC offers lots of training and development opportunities. By learning to give more specialised care to residents, we’re able to do our jobs better.
My husband and I love the rock and roll era and dressing in 50s gear. We also do a lot of classic car tours and charity fundraising.
Person-centred care is the focus at SCC – showing love, understanding and support. That’s what we do here.
