I’ve been at Southern Cross Care for 13 years.
I began via work for the dole, then got employed as a Food Service Attendant. I next became a Kitchen Hand with paid training from SCC.
They then trained me to be a Chef and I’m now a Catering Manager responsible for the food needs of 176 people.
SCC are incredibly supportive of their staff. I had a housing issue where I got into trouble as a 23 year old. SCC found me a new home and helped me through this tough time.
As a business, they don’t have to do that sort of thing, but they want to give all their people opportunities.
Providing high quality meals on such a big scale is an incredible achievement, and we have a good model that works well.
Management always gives you 100% support and backs you all the way.
I enjoy golf, cricket, cooking and relaxing.
